Bronze Bengal Tiger Sculpture
-
Description
This is a beautifully cast sculpture of a roaring Bengal tiger that was most probably created in the early 20th century. The bronze is not signed and does not display a foundry mark; however, the quality and fine detailing of the casting and the applied patina indicates an original casting as opposed to a restrike. We are attributing the origin of the bronze to France as the type of casting is not Japanese. The size of the sculpture allows the tiger to be displayed on a elegant masculine bookshelf or desk. The sculpture is in overall very good original condition; there are hints of minor desirable patina. No faults have been noted.
