Acoma ornament by C Chino (Carrie Chino Charlie)

native clay and paint. fired in traditional manner.

Carrie Chino Charlie was an accomplished potter at Acoma and she worked in a traditional manner, using native clay and slip and firing over an open fire. This ornament has survived the years in excellent condition. Please note that the ornament has a slight curve in it, continuing the reference to a traditional Acoma pottery jar. -
