Description
Chinese Ormolu and Cloisonné Enamel Vase for the Islamic Market
Chinese, Early 20th Century
Height 19cm, diameter 23cm
Crafted in China, this fine ormolu and cloisonné enamel bowl was intended for export to Islamic markets. Sitting on three gilt bronze feet, the body of the bowl is of bulbous shape, featuring two gilt looped handles. The body itself is covered in colourful cloisonné enamel designs, with various flowers, vines and scrolling motifs against a turquoise background.
