Condition Good. Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze. RESTORATION. Remodelled end of tail feathers, claws, part of spill rim. Section of base reglued and join retouched. Filled chips to crest, base and spill rim.
Creation Date 1870
Description Choisy Majolica vase which features a rooster stood in front of a stone wall. Signed, 'LOUIS CARRIER-BELLEUSE' to the side of the base. Coloration: Brown, blue, dark pink, are predominant. The piece bears maker's marks for the Choisy pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1569'.
