RARE French silver-plated letter opener by Christofle, featuring a double-sided medallion commemorating Napoleon Bonaparte. One side presents a high-relief profile of Napoleon crowned with laurel and encircled by the words NAPOLEON EMPEREUR. The reverse shows a bee—Napoleon’s imperial emblem—positioned above crossed laurel branches, symbolizing victory and unity. Stamped “CHRISTOFLE FRANCE” with the hallmark “COLLE-GARCIA” on the blade. The tapered blade is smooth and elegantly worn, showing a beautiful aged patina. A functional yet historically evocative object, perfect for collectors of Empire-style decorative arts, desk accessories, or French political iconography.
