Description By William Bryant of 71 St. Paul’s Churchyard, London which dates this very fine piece to between 1826 and 1832 when the firm relocated to 30 St. James Street, London.

The exterior of the box is mahogany with ebony and brass inlay, the sides with flush campaign handles, the interior of the box with the original leather, slightly distressed, the interior extraordinarily retains the original brass candle nozzles and bobeches that would have been supplied with the desk.
In addition, the box converts to a book rest and retains the original book support.

Decorative brass inlaid designs to the two lower corners are engraved in script “Bryant Maker” and “St Pauls 71 Ch Yd London”

A rare and highly desirable piece in untouched condition.
