French Antique Bronze Sculpture of a Greyhound Dog by Emmanuel Fremiet

Description
An exquisite model of a standing greyhound by Emmanuel Fremiet, this was originally debuted as a pair of greyhounds with the present figure being the larger of the two dogs. The single greyhound model is quite scarce and is a powerful example of this proud muscular animaln. The casting quality and attention to detail is above reproach, the surface rich with unusually careful casting of the hair and musculature in the figure while the finer details are beautifully chiseled and chased to create a perfect finish throughout. It is retains an original chemical patination. The naturalistic base is signed in block lettering E. FREMIET.
