Mela" apple bowl was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1953 for Rinnovel.
Sottsass wasn't originally italian, he was born on 1917 in Innsbruck, (Austria), but grew up in Milan, (Italy ) where his father worked as an architect. But Ettore Sottsass remains one of the greatest Italian designer of the last half century, who has died in Milan aged 90.
