Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi Raymor Glazed Ceramic Vase, Signed, Italy, 1950s. Slender cylindrical vase in matte white glaze, decorated with glazed colors in a stacked column of abstract motifs: black lines, a yellow field of dots, dashes, a red block, a grid, blue stripes, a green disc and a brick pattern. Made by Bitossi, Italy, and imported by Raymor, with the original Raymor paper label (“Modern in the Tradition of Good Taste, Styled and Imported by Raymor”) bearing the handwritten Bitossi code “2173/BIT”, and marked “519 Italy” in black glaze on the underside. Measures 13.5 inches height x 3.25 inches diameter.
