Carved walnut, white tail deer antlers
Excellent condition, craquelure to white paint on plaque.
Provenance: Found in western New York.
This is one of the best American carved deer head plaques we’ve seen based on the exceptional quality of the carving and historic dry varnish finish. The presentation of the head mounted on a contrasting white-painted shield-form backing adds to the aesthetic appeal.
