This pair of fine candelabra torcheres take form on a monumental scale, each of them standing almost two and a half metres tall. The casting is superior in its quality and could be attributed to one of the 19th Century masters, such as Deniere or Barbedienne. Each torchere is formed of a fluted veined marble column set on a square plinth base. Atop this stands a patinated bronze sculpture of a winged putto, who holds aloft an ormolu candelabra with ten scrolling branches of stylized acanthus leaves and ten lights with flower-form drip pans.
