Description
Dimensions: 28 ⅜” H x 53” W x 26 ¾” D
This French coffer is made from solid oak, and it dates to the 1800s or earlier. The lid consists of three oak planks which open to reveal a deep and wide interior that makes it versatile for an entryway, hall, or mudroom. One could even use it as a traditional “footlocker” placed at the end of a bed. The rectilinear design is offset with softer, more organic features like the curved edges on the front legs, the oval-shaped carving in the center front panel, and the scalloped apron. A richly patinated surface shows years of use and appreciation, and it has been nicely maintained for future generations. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions. -
