Description
Pair of large vintage English travel cases made by Frenchs
English, 20th Century
Blue case: height 31cm, width 84cm, depth 51cm
Red case: height 32cm, width 90cm, depth 51cm
Dating to the early twentieth century, these intriguing pieces are a pair of large, antique travel cases, made by Frenchs, an English luggage company. Leather, and with wooden-beam structural supports, they feature elegant marbled-like patterns in the interior and are stamped on the exterior with metal latch locks. One red, one blue, they are of similar though not quite matching design. Remarkable antique pieces, they are fine memorabilia of early twentieth century English crafts and style, and of interest to those with an appreciation for pre-war England and travel history.
