George IV Mahogany Charger or Salver Stands by Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1825

    A C R O T E R I O N is pleased to offer this fine and rare pair of circa 1825, English George IV period, figured mahogany charger, dish, plate, platter, or salver stands by Gillows of Lancaster, the line-moulded concave-topped struts or backrests reverse connected to weighted box bases with turned split-baluster rests and beaded top edges. Apparently unmarked, the bottoms of the stands retain what are believed to be the original green felt and thus have been left untouched, they are identical to documented and illustrated examples in the reference below.
