Description
Set of twelve silver-plated bronze Queen hand bells by Gorham
American, Late 20th Century
Height 13cm, diameter 6cm
A set of six pairs, each depicting significant royal figures from the late 15th and the 16th century, these twelve pieces are dining hand-bells, made from silver-plated bronze and standing at 13cm tall. They were made by the Gorham Manufacturing Company in Providence, Rhode Island in approximately the early 1970s, and depict Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots, Catherine the Great, Marie de' Medici, Isabella of Castille, and Marie Antoinette. Rare as a complete set of six, rarer still to have a pair of each, these are fine collectors pieces for those with an eye for historical memorabilia, or American silver or silvered bronze.
