Description
German 800 silver box, ca 1900. Rectangular with straight sides; cover flat and hinged. At corners cast mermaid supports in form of maiden in chaste Classical dress with scaly hindquarters terminating in scroll. On sides and cover top, in relief, scenes of rustic idyll with country folk dancing and feasting. Gilt interior. Hanau marks. Very good condition.
