Description
German cast silver figural dog match safe. Imported to England in 1912 by Richard Lang. A bulldog with hunched shoulders and massive paws stands—all bristles and sags—with head thrust forward. Furrowed brow and jowly underbite contrast with sweet floppy ears. A hulking and tenacious desktop companion.
German marks comprising fineness stamp (930) and Hanau maker’s stamp (Karl Schatz) as well as English sterling-standard import marks including London assay stamp. Very good condition with nice patina.
