Set of 4 Howard & Co. majestic sterling silver candlesticks from 1901 in elaborate Baroque Revival style with sculptural, curvilinear motifs in reliefs throughout the candlesticks. Each measures 11 1/8'' in height by 6 3/8'' in diameter at the base, has a removable bobeche, is weighted, and bears hallmarks as shown.
Howard & Company was located at 264 Fifth Avenue in New York and were jewelers and silversmiths. Howard & Co. made outstanding silver and had shops in New York, Newport, London and Paris during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Owner J.P. Howard had a deep passion for excellent design and quality execution.
