Description
On order for your consideration we have a tall stylish teak wood candlestick.
This piece was designed for Illums Bolighus in Denmark around 1960 which was a high end shop for all the new young designers in Scandinavian.
Illums Bolighus offered a diverse range of items, from small accessories to large furniture.
This elegant piece will work in any interior.
Illums Bolighus was Denmark's first department store, established by Danish entrepreneur Kaj Dessau Illums Bolighus in 1925 under the name BO. Collaborating with Swedish designer Brita Drewsen, who served as his artistic consultant, Dessau crafted a distinctive store concept. When it opened on Strøget in 1928, the store featured carefully arranged interiors combining furniture, textiles, decor, and artworks. The display windows, reflecting social development and progress, have always been a notable aspect. Often likened to a museum of contemporary Danish and European design, Illums Bolighus offers a diverse range of products, from small gifts to large furniture pieces. The trendsetting and visionary display windows of Illums Bolighus have always been a feature of the store, which has reflected social development and progress ever since it opened as BO in 1925. These windows also serve to illustrate Illums Bolighus' business concept: an attractive and inspirational shopping environment that is always at the cutting edge of both fashion and societal mores. -
