Immerse yourself in the world of modern artistry with this exquisite set of two solid bronze abstract sculptures by the renowned Israeli artist, Itzik Ben Shalom. Signed and dated 1989, these pieces encapsulate the true essence of minimalism, with their elongated forms and stylized heads, showcasing the mastery and vision of the artist.
In a limited edition, each sculpture bears the distinctive signature "I. Benshalom", confirming its authenticity. The engravings also reveal their limited edition nature, with each numbered 7/99, making them a treasure for discerning collectors.
Flexibility in design is one of the hallmarks of these sculptures. With their adaptive nature, you can position them in various stances, allowing for a dynamic and ever-changing display, reflecting the moods and themes of your surroundings.
Each sculpture is a slightly different size: 6.5" H x 15.75" W x 2.5" D and 6.25" H x 14.25" W x 2.25" D. One sculpture has a small bend at the tip of the elongated form (see photos).
Born in Hadera, Israel in 1945, Ben Shalom became a merchant marine at the age of fifteen. This formative experience influenced his work as he traveled the world absorbing new images. Upon completing his military service in the Israeli Navy, Ben Shalom knew that he wanted to work with metal -a material that had always fascinated him. In 1967, he and his brother-in-law set up a foundry specializing in the lost-wax method of casting sculpture. For 15 years Ben Shalom worked with other artists, helping them to realize their concepts, until one day, he started to sketch a design he had carried in his mind for over a year. Of this moment Ben Shalom has stated, “The day I stopped doing other people’s work and cast my first bronze, is the day my life began.”
Invest in not just a piece of art but a story, a journey, and an artist's soul with these exceptional bronze sculptures by Itzik Ben Shalom. -
