French Hand Stitched Leather & Brass Coat and Hat Rack by Jacques Adnet, 1955
-
Description
Rare French Mid-Century Modern hand stitched leather and brass coat & hat or storage rack by Jacques Adnet circa 1955. Adnet defined luxury in France in the 1950 period with his pieces in hand stitched leather with brass detailing. This exquisite piece fully demonstrates Adnet rare design talents with its linear form in brass bars counterbalanced with hand stitched black leather clad sides and daring leather clad metal loops that hang from the brass structure and function as coat hangers. The piece functions both as a piece of functional art furniture and a work of spellbinding geometric sculpture with its strong visual and aesthetic appeal.
