Contemporary Abstract Paper Sculpture by Jae Ko
-
Description
A signature paper sculpture by Jae Ko (Korean, b. 1961) Untitled (JK632), 2009. The undulating sculpture was made from tightly rolled paper, glue, and red calligraphy ink. The unique media the artist chooses to use is paper, and her dynamic sculptures were a direct result of the antithetical nature of the media. The paper is fragile but it can also be strong. It is elastic but it can also be rigid. The ying and yang of all things. The sculpture on offer also display a mitotic form of tension, from the twisting to the polarization. It can be mounted on the wall or simply displayed as a tabletop art. Signed, dated with artist's inventory code on the back as shown.
