Description
Japanese Suzuribako (writing box) with makie (gold dust) and gold and silver hiramakie (bas relief) design of a river running through a rocky terrain with flowering trees, a weeping willow, and a pine with mounded fields of wild grasses. A cliff in the distance holds a temple peeking through flowering trees and pine, under a moonlit sky with wispy clouds. The interior of the lid is a close up of a rocky river shore with lilies, wild grasses, and peonies on a silver an gold nashii ground. Bits of heavy gold and silver dot the landscape on both the outer and inner lid. The brush holding tray has gold pine trees on a rocky terrain. Box is complete with water dropper and ink stone.
