Unique and large-scaled vase by Jens Thirslund (1892-1942) for Kähler Keramik, having wide rounded shoulders tapering rolled foot in the manner of a Japanese tea storage jar, hand-thrown almost certainly by Thirslund himself, and glazed first with a white ground, and then painted with stylized Japanese scenes depicting princely and equestrian figures in a landscape of cloud-pruned pines and rocky outcroppings using brushy Sumi-style stokes of Imari blue, russet and gold, Denmark, 1920s-1930s; marked with an inscribed "HAK" mark for Kähler and painted with artist monogram
