Description
On offer for your consideration we have a collection of 24 original sample models designed by Karl Hagenauer and made in Vienna Austria between the 1920's and 1930's.
When the buyer made an appointment to look at what was being made they would look over the pieces "The original sample models". The buyer would decide which ones he wanted and how many of each of those models. One of these buyers was from New York the name of his shop was Rena Rosenthal. She did a big business with the Hagenauer from the 1920's onward.
The following models are marked with inventory stock numbers: fox No.9617, lamb No.9515, Indian No.9236, bunny rabbit No.4854, pig marked twice with No.4206, tiny bird No.5959, Mickey Mouse No.2848, boxer No.2558, John Hold Jr. face No.2821. These pieces were part of the large collection of Hagenauer stock purchased in the early 1970's by my business partner Mr. Fred Silberman from Mr. Franz Hagenauer. Mr. Fred Silberman and myself were Mr. Franz Hagenauer only client from 1971 until Hagenauer death in 1986. -
