Sphera, Contemporary Set of Three Sculptural Spheres by Katz Studio

Description
Sphera is a set of three sculptural spheres from Katz Studio, each surface divided between two contrasting states: one finished as a perfectly smooth, uninterrupted curve, the other appearing worn away, fractured, or eroded by time and an unseen force. The contrast gives each sphere the presence of an artifact caught in transformation, suspended somewhere between geometric precision and organic decay.
The simplicity of the spherical form makes the change in surface especially pronounced. Across the smooth sections, light travels continuously around the curve, emphasizing the purity of the geometry. On the eroded sections, that same light is broken apart by irregular recesses, ridges, and facets, creating greater depth and visual complexity.
Sphera is available in a selection of Katz Studio finishes, including Obsidian Black, Lux White, Platinum, Velura Gold, and additional custom finishes. Each treatment gives the work a distinctly different character. Obsidian Black emphasizes shadow and depth, Lux White gives the forms a softer and more architectural presence, Platinum introduces a cool satin metallic quality, while Velura Gold brings warmth and a richer sculptural contrast to the textured surfaces.
Sold as a set of three, the spheres are designed to be grouped and arranged together. Their varying degrees of erosion create a small sculptural landscape, with each piece relating to the others through scale, texture, and negative space. They can be placed closely as a concentrated composition or spread across a console, table, pedestal, or shelf for a more open arrangement.
Hand finished in photopolymer resin, each sphere measures approximately 8 inches in diameter.
Available in multiple Katz Studio finishes. Please inquire for current finish options, pricing, and production times. -
