Description
This a great example of a mid-20th century, circa 1950s, Elephant sculpture. The elephant has been eloquently detailed with all of his wondrous wrinkles and glass eyes. The leather ears are a bit stiff, but remain in good condition. The original faux ivory tusks are present and no significant alterations or repairs have been made. It appears that there have been a few minor attempts to spiff him up, which have added to the natural patina of this blessings-bearing beast.
**In many cultures the elephant symbolizes good luck, nobility, prosperity, fertility and protection. -
