Description
A sculpted cast bonze box "Le Jour et La Nuit" by French Parisian art jewelry designer Line Vautrin (1913-1997) circa 1950s. The box features an interesting design on two sides that depicts the day and the night respectively, with stylized sun and star over grid window panel of the Parisian cityscape. This is an uncommon model with the design extending to the edge instead of being confined within a border. Signed "Line Vautrin" on the side. Retain the original mirror inside.
For a similar box, see "Line Vautrin" by Anne Bokelberg illustration on page 83.
