Description
Designer: Livio Seguso
Italy - Circa 1978
Dimensions: 30" H x 10" W x 6" D
Condition: Very good vintage condition.
Evoke a sense of refined elegance and artistic sophistication with this large Murano art glass sculpture, meticulously crafted by the esteemed artist Livio Seguso. Signed and dated 1978 to the underside of the base. The sculpture radiates a subtle smoky allure, this masterpiece hails from the illustrious glassmaking island of Murano and is a reflection of Italy's age-old tradition of glass artistry.
At the heart of this sculpture is a mesmerizing dance of two crescents. Rising at varied heights, these crescents echo nature's curves and the moon's mystique. They seem to gracefully arc towards each other, creating a dynamic visual interplay, reminiscent of two celestial bodies in a harmonious ballet.
Crafted in a delicate smoked hue, the glass captures light beautifully. This piece, while exuding modernity, also reverberates with an almost ethereal quality, making it a timeless treasure.
Affixed to a robust cylindrical base, the crescents find their foundation, achieving a balance of weight and design. The frosted base measures 6” in height and 5” in diameter, lending stability to the sculpture's soaring design. Standing tall at 30”, and spanning a width of 10”, this piece isn't just a sculpture—it's a statement. Each dimension, curve, and the subtle gradient of the glass speaks of Livio Seguso's unparalleled craftsmanship and vision.
Adorn your space with this exquisite piece, signed and dated 1978, and let it be a testament to the transcendent beauty of Murano glass art and the genius of Livio Seguso. -
