Striking pair of monumental amphora-style vases designed by Mari Simmulson (1911-2000) for Upsala-Ekeby AB, having raked cylindrical forms with cove necks and handles, and featuring the designer's trademark carved graphic patterning, crafted in stoneware with a bronze-evoking olive-brown glaze, Sweden, 1965; artist mark and "UE SWEDEN 530CM" impressed into underside.
