Description
EROTIC SESSION A NAKED WOMAN BEING ENLACED BY TWO CRICKETS BY MARK PRENT
Erotic art work of a naked woman being enlaced by two crickets by Mark Prent resting in a circular walnut box with mirrored a liner signed under: "Mark Prent Calypso 3/15 1990". Prent has been the recipient of numerous honours and awards including the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship (1978) and seventeen Canada Council Grants (to name just two examples.) Following a dramatic debut on the Canadian art scene in 1970, the career of sculptor Mark Prent played out to highly mixed reviews before the public for another thirteen years. In 1975, Mark went to Berlin, West Germany on a major international grant, the Guest Artist in Berlin Program of the Deutsche Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), where he resided with wife, Susie, for nearly two years. While living in Germany, he had two major solo exhibitions in German museums. Mark returned to Europe in 1978 for a major retrospective exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. He then moved to the US in Vermont. United States.
