Description
An ensemble of three beautiful and decorative handmade studio vases by Dutch designer Piet Knepper, handcrafted in the 1970s by Mobach Keramiek Pottery in Utrecht, Netherlands. We acquired this wonderful set from the clearance of an old arts and crafts store, which is also the reason why these vases are unused and in excellent condition. The set includes three vases measuring approximately 13 / 9 / 8.5 inches in height. In addition to the vases, we also have a presentation sign that was produced exclusively for retail display purposes. It bears the inscription "Mobach Potters Since 1895 Utrecht Holland" and is included in the set as well. As mentioned, the vases are in fantastic condition. The original paper labels are still on the bottom, and the vases are also stamped and signed.
Piet Knepper (*1935) is a Dutch designer and ceramicist, best known for his work with the renowned Mobach pottery studio in Utrecht. During the 1960s and 1970s, he designed numerous studio ceramic pieces characterized by clean shapes, modern lines, and a often minimalist yet highly decorative aesthetic.
Mobach Keramiek, founded in 1895, is a traditional Dutch pottery workshop celebrated for its handcrafted vases, vessels, and ceramic art objects. Piet Knepper’s designs played a key role in modernizing the brand and contributing to its international recognition. -
