Murdoc Indian Dolls
Northeastern California
Ca. 1860-1875
Pony hide beaded clothing with basket woven hat, seed ornament and some feather remnants.
In a fine state of preservation. Pigment on the faces has oxidized, some bead loss and wear to the clothing commensurate with age.
Provenance: Estate of a California physician.
See period 19th century photos of the figures pictured in the physician’s home. Full documentation and provenance available upon request.
Included with the dolls are a miniature beaded bandolier bag, hide quiver and miscellaneous beads.
