Item # 109KEP24Q  An extremely fine Art Nouveau casting of Orientalische Tänzerin mit Schalmei after Franz Rosse circa 1900, it is such a delicate model and is a rare find on the open market. The model is situated over a rouge marble base, the bronze base designed to conform perfectly with the faceted marble. Note the intricate handling of the garment with minute elements crisply captured - unusual attention to detail includes the wrinkles inside of her curved foot and the bends of her finger joints; the development of each necklace around her neck, the chiseled texture of the arm bangles and the hand-hammered texture of her flowing garment all speak to the technical superiority of both the foundry and the artist. Condition Report: Some very light handling wear to her cheeks, tiny spot to the back of the upraised arm, some scuffs around the hand and aulos. Very fine original condition.
