Excellent condition, retaining some original varnish (now oxidized) with a wonderful patina.
Provenance: Collection of Sam and Patty McCullough; Raccoon Creek Antiques, 2006, Pennsylvania.
The hanging box is fitted with a lid opening to compartments. This anonymous artist had an exceptional talent for both stenciling and paint decoration, depicting mirror images of birds. The untouched condition further adds to its rarity and desirability among collectors.
