Pair 67" Painted Wood Hollywood Regency Obelisks with Gilt Detailing, c. 1960s

Description
This is a stunning and very unusual pair of 67inch tall painted wood obelisks. The obelisks are painted in an orangey-red color with gilt scrolling that mimics gilt detailing on leather. The obelisks are supported on a black lacquered plinth that is supported on four gilt wood balls. The obelisks are in overall very good original condition. We have touched ujp a couple of spots of paint-otherwise the obelisks appear in their original state. These great decorative elements would be a coupe-de-grace for a traditional dining room or serve as humorous element in a mid-century modern design.
