Description
PAIR OF CLASSICAL SOLID FLUTED MARBLE COLUMN PEDESTALS
Mid-to-late 20th century | with bronze stop-fluting
40" H x 11 3/8" diameter (top) x 15 7/8" W (base)
A striking pair of solid marble pedestals of cylindrical form raised on square plinth bases. The richly figured stone is cut to reveal variegated tones of green, rose, black and cream; the dynamic veining pattern shifts fluidly across the surfaces. They are mounted with vertically inset polished bronze stop-fluting.
Please note these pedestals are solid marble and extraordinarily heavy - this can be very helpful in active homes, as they are almost impossible to move by bumping into them and add a great deal of safety for whatever is seated on top of them. However, they are very difficult to move and will require a professional installation.
Condition: In good overall condition, minor chipping around the base, rubbing and scuffing throughout, a nicely patinated surface.
