Description
The traditional Chinese gu vase dates back as far as 1600 BC, when the form was originally cast in bronze. This set of early 20th century pewter gu vases would have been used in a traditional southern Chinese upper-class home as wine goblets or vessels for ritual offerings. The censer would have accompanied the vases, placed tabletop and used for burning incense.
