Description
Polen I, is a limited edition of five pieces produced in blue valchromat, a material that combines the natural features of wood with the brightness of colours and is characterized by its flexibility.
This piece shows the dual relation between the dodecahedron and the icosahedron.
Pieces are cut with CNC precision while the rest of the processes, from the assembly of the pieces, to the polishing and the final finish in natural oil, are carried out manually.
The research of Cerisola is centered on the beauty of geometric constructive principles found in nature and how these systems can be applied to the design and fabrication of modular structures. The findings made are applied to the design of furniture, sculptures, playgrounds, lamps, toys and other daily life objects.
Cerisola states: “The game is the engine of everything. For any human and creative activity it is fundamental to achieve a look from it”. Pedro Cerisola´s work is in private and in public collections, such as the University Museum of Sciences UNIVERSUM in Mexico City. His work has been exhibited at the Museo Rufino Tamayo, Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City and the Franz Mayer Design Museum, among others.
