Description
Petrified wood specimen and amethyst geode
Continental, 20th Century
Long stone: Height 12cm, width 30cm, depth 13cm
Tall stone: Height 19cm, width 17cm, depth 12cm
The amethyst geode and a petrified wood specimen wonderfully showcase nature’s capabilities and would make superb home décor pieces.
The amethyst geode is magnificently shaped and its inside reveals a wonderful surprise. A plethora of minerals fill the central cavity, and their colours range from deep purple to almost black. These are surrounded by a salmon pink and grey outer layer. The sunlight makes the minerals sparkle, creating a dream-like atmosphere in one’s interior.
The petrified wood specimen is neutral and includes pared-down patterns. Such specimens are formed when minerals enter the empty chambers within and between cells of wood.
Each one could act as a stand-alone decorative piece, or they could be displayed together in a creative composition.
