Description
"Nude #1", a rare figural wall sculpture incorporating a female nude motif in solid bronze by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed on front “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”). The LaVernes did a small series of cast wall sculptures incorporating nude figures in both solid bronze or pewter in the 1960’s. These hung in the original LaVerne Gallery. They are rare collectors works of art.

ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, this work cast in pewter is shown in the section The Cast Series on page 175 with the caption, “The STUDY OF NUDE #1, is a cast pewter wall hanging sculpture depicting a female nude. The window next to the model shows a female on a horse, perhaps reflecting what she is dreaming about.”
