Plata Lappas was founded in Argentina in 1887. This was the beginning of the Golden Age in Buenos Aires when there was a tremendous influx of artisans and businesses from all parts of Europe. The company founder, Alcibiades Lappas arrived from Greece without funding, but with his talent in the trade as a silversmith. He created a wide range of products with his proprietary “Quadruple Bano” silver plate that was as durable as it was beautiful. Many products were created for hotels, palaces, and restaurants in addition to the high-end shops that carried their products. More than 135 years later, the legacy continues with the worldwide distribution of the Plata Lappas products.
