Description
Raymonde Guerbe Rare Art Deco Bronze Sculpture Lady With Cape Guillemard Edition
Item #3485
Raymonde Guerbe (1894-1995), Rare Art Deco Bronze Sculpture Lady With Cape Guillemard Edition is a remarkable piece of artwork from the Art Deco era. Created in France in the 1930s, this sculpture showcases the exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail that characterized the Art Deco movement. This piece signed Guerbe on the Onyx is usually attributed to Pierre Le Faguays but it has been learned over time that this pseudonym is really attributed to his wife, Raymonde Guerbe.
The “Lady With Cape” sculpture is part of the Guillemard Edition, an extremely rare and stunning bronze that depicts a graceful lady wearing a cape. The sculpture stands on an onyx base, which adds to its elegance and aesthetic appeal. The choice of bronze as the primary material reflects the popularity of the medium during the Art Deco period, as it allowed for intricate detailing and a lustrous finish.
The sculpture embodies the elegance, sophistication, and glamour that characterized the Art Deco style. The lady’s pose exudes confidence and grace, capturing the spirit of the modern, independent woman of the time. The flowing cape adds a sense of movement and dynamism to the sculpture, creating a visually captivating piece.
Owning a rare and valuable artwork like this bronze sculpture allows art lovers to appreciate the craftsmanship and artistic vision of the Art Deco era. It serves as a testament to the enduring beauty and artistic legacy of both Raymonde Guerbe and Pierre Le Faguays, two prominent figures in the world of Art Deco.
