Description | This a good example of a 19th century Scottish Lignum Vitae carpet or lawn ball. Lignum Vitae is one of the hardest woods and has always been the wood of choice for carpet, lawn and bocce balls. The ball is detailed with the inlaid engraved bone initials "SA" at one side and a bone circle a the other. Additionally, the ball is incised signed by the Scottish maker. | ||||||||||||||||
