Size 12 x 19½ x 12½ in. (30.5 x 50 x 32 cm)

A formal stand for flower arrangements, made of wood finished in black and gold lacquer, sprinkled with graduated hirame kinpun gold flakes and kinpun gold powders.

Comes with the original paulownia-wood tomobako storage box, the lid inscribed outside: Wajima-nuri kadai (Wajima-lacquer flower stand), signed and sealed on the reverse of the lid Senchasō kinsei (Carefully manufactured by Senchasō)

Wajima is an important center of the urushi lacquer industry, located on the north coast of the Noto Peninsula about seventy miles from the city of Kanazawa.
