Set of 4 George III sterling silver candlesticks. Made by William Abdy in London in 1779. Each: Urn socket with detachable bobeche; tapering pillar on stepped and raised foot. Low relief goat head-mounted garlands and paterae of which one vacant and the others inset with mask in petal surround. Beading reeding fluting and leaf-and-dart. On base is engraved W. S. Bigelow : Christie : 1897”. Fully marked. Very good condition with minor base pings.
