On offer for your consideration we have a figural candelabra showing a fashionably woman in a beautiful celadon polychrome glaze wearing a hat which is a candleholder.
She is wearing a wonderful pleated dress which is quite similar to many of the silver and brass vases designed by Viennese architect Josef Hoffmann. Susi Singer designed ceramics for the Wiener Werkstätte from 1919 until the late 1920's, she also had her own ceramics workshop Grünbach am Schneeberg in Grünbach, Upper Austria. She exhibited her ceramic sculptures at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris 1925. She immigrated in 1937 with her son to California where she work in ceramics until her death in 1955. Her great body of work lives on today in many museums and private collections around the world.
