A Good and Rare Pair of Regency Patinated Bronze Candlesticks after a Design Popularized and Published by Thomas Hope.

The original model for these monopedic pieces was probably the 17th century Roman marble table owned by Hope and used as a design for his “Tripod Table, supported by Chimeras” published in Household Furniture plate 11. Tables of this exact design are now held by the Victoria Museum.
