Three-Tiered Pagoda Birdcage

$ 1,680
  • Description
    A triumphant display of grandeur and craftsmanship, this monumental birdcage was once home to the pet bird of a Qing-dynasty aristocrat. Dated to the early 20th century, the cage was carefully assembled of thin bamboo rods into the shape of a towering three-tiered pagoda, finished with a dark brown stain and decorated with carved accents that imitate traditional architecture. A sinuous dragon appears in various carved elements throughout the cage, a symbol of power and good fortune. A fantastic collector's item, we love this birdcage as an unusual sculptural object or a new home for a feathered friend. // Depth: 19.0"
