Opaque inky black glass presents a stark contrast to a dense motif of thin coiling, overlapping vines and small heart-shaped leaves, articulated in a highly reflective silvery-blue iridescent glass, that spirals down the neck and around rounded shoulder before spreading down the body vase.

This rare early Tiffany Favrile Glass Vase is part of a small series of related examples produced in the mid- to late-1890s featuring a similar decorative motif against an opaque black background.

This rare example of early Tiffany Glass is inscribed on the underside with signature and date code.
